On Friday, 16 May 2025, New Zealand will once again turn pink in a powerful stand against bullying.
Led by the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand, Pink Shirt Day encourages individuals, schools, and workplaces to wear pink and promote kindness, inclusion, and respect.
The campaign's message, *Kōrero Mai, Kōrero Atu, Mauri Tū, Mauri Ora – Speak Up, Stand Together, Stop Bullying, underscores the importance of collective action in creating safe environments for all.
Bullying remains a significant issue in New Zealand, with one in five workers reporting frequent bullying and the country ranking third-highest for school bullying among OECD nations. Pink Shirt Day aims to address this by fostering communities where diversity is celebrated, and everyone feels valued.
Participation is simple: don a pink shirt, initiate conversations about bullying, and support fundraising efforts. Resources, including event packs and merchandise, are available through the official website. Mental Health Foundation of NZ
